itel A70 First Impression: For the past several years, a company has been strengthening its position in the Indian smartphone market. Itel smartphones are being sold well in the price range of Rs 10,000. In the year 2023, Itel created a sensation by launching a smartphone with a curved display for less than Rs 15,000.

He also wants to start the year 2024 with a bang. Itel A70 has been launched, which is said to be the first phone with 256 GB internal storage for less than Rs 8,000. I have the ‘Brilliant Gold’ color variant of itel A70. How is this smartphone at first glance? Know from first impression.

An attempt has been made to make itel A70 meet 3 criteria. First – design, second – specifications and third – price. Itel has claimed to include in itel A70 whatever a common Indian user wants in his phone. From the looks of it, it doesn’t seem at all that there is any ‘cheap’ device in hand. If the person in front asks about the features, then you can silence him by telling him 256 GB internal storage. Although it is not a 5G smartphone, it may be suitable for those who want to shift from feature phones to smartphones or are looking for a ‘beautiful’ device at a low price.

itel A70 comes in a red colored compact box. Things like phone, charger, charging cable, phone cover and user manual are available in the box. It is important to mention the cover of the phone here. Instead of a transparent TPU case, itel A70 has a black colored non-transparent designer cover. Apart from being trendy, it is also quite flexible and fits comfortably in the phone. The case cover has AWESOME branding engraved on it, which is also visible on the phone.

The back design of itel A70 touches the heart at first sight. There are 3 medium sized camera bumps engraved on the top left. AWESOME is written at the bottom and it is said that this design is the product of itel. The back of itel A70 is glass. As soon as the lights fall on it, bright dotted patterns and lining are visible, which give a trendy look to the phone.

Even after using it for a long time, there were no fingerprints on the glass back. The frame of the phone offers matte finish and does not slip from the hand due to the rounded edges. We did not find any connectivity port in the top frame of the phone. A 3.5mm headphone jack, Type-C port and speaker grill are provided at the bottom.

The power button and volume rocker were on the right side. ‘SIM tray’ was installed on the top left side. The power button of the phone also works as a fingerprint sensor, which is a good feature in less than Rs 8 thousand. The front design of itel A70 is decent. The company claims that the screen to body ratio is 90 percent, although the display chin seemed a little thick to us. I have no complaints with the water drop notch in this range. Another feature of the design of itel A70 is its lightweight. The phone was not very heavy even with the cover on.

itel A70 has a 6.6-inch LCD HD+ display. The display has 720×1612 pixel resolution and brightness is up to 500 nits. ‘Dynamic Bar’ is an important feature of this phone, which was once the identity of iPhone. This is a smart assistant, with the help of which basic notifications are highlighted.

Considering the price, the display of itel A70 seemed fine to us. Didn’t face any problems while using it indoors. Colors were smooth and there was no problem in reading content. Due to fog in Delhi, we could not test the phone’s display in sunlight.

itel A70 has UniSoC T603 processor, with which 4 GB RAM is provided. Memory fusion technology has been provided in the phone, which means that the empty storage of the phone can give additional 8 GB power to its RAM. Any user will need this when he uses the phone heavily.

The UniSoC T603 is an average processor and is common in this price range. The phone was performing well in initial use, but the performance cannot be judged so quickly. My review unit has 4GB RAM and 256GB storage.

itel A70 has a 13-megapixel HDR rear camera. It has an 8 megapixel selfie camera. There is also a flash light in the back. The camera app has modes like photo, portrait, low light, wide selfie. Some of the initial pictures taken with the phone seemed average to us. We will take more time to test the camera performance. The good thing is that this phone can record video in 30fps 1080P, its results also have to be seen.

itel A70 has a 5000 mAh battery, which has a Type-C port for charging. A 10W charger comes in the box, which will probably take more than 2 hours to full the battery. In the initial use, we found the battery powerful, but its actual performance will be known after a few days.
